PVE COUNSELOR

Hello Park Village Bulldogs!  

My name is Kia Bailey.  I am your school counselor.  I received my Bachelor’s of Business degree specializing in Marketing  from Southwest Texas State University, and my Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from Texas A&M University - Kingsville.

My role and responsibility as a school counselor is to ensure that each student is the best that they can be, and to support their social and emotional well-being.  As part of the PVE education team,  I will nurture student growth, promote student learning and self-esteem, celebrate diversity, and implement effective instruction.  I will apply real-life applications to guidance lessons, and encourage the continuation of higher education.  My small group lessons will contain current events, creative activities, self-expression, and community interaction.  My classroom atmosphere will be filled with positivity, positive attitudes, and  reinforcement with an open-door policy.  I will encourage self-directed thinking and learning, use a variety of instructional materials and resources, and maintain a climate that promotes the life-long pursuit of learning and encourages cooperation, leadership, and mutual respect.

Learning, growing, and developing is an on-going process; and I want to be a priceless asset for this campus, district and community.
